Bureo
Bureo is a sustainable skateboard design that is made out of dumped fishnets from Chile. The name of the skateboard, Bureo, means “the waves” in the language of the native Chileans. The company writes the following about how the name came about:
“Selected in honor of the Chilean people, the name represents our mission. Just as a wave originates from a disturbance of wind along the ocean surface, Bureo is starting with a small change in an ocean of plastic. Through time and energy, the waves of Bureo will develop the force required to cause real change.”
Bureo’s Kickstarter campaign raised way more than the original goal was, so it’s bound to be a great succes.
